July/August 2010
Back by popular demand is SUPER SAFETY BINGO which started on July 4th.
Associates hurt their backs when they pull items rather than push them.
Our new 4 game cards reinforce the Push, Don’t Pull message. $1500 will
go to the first associate that spells out P-U-S-H. Good Luck and remember
in order to win one of the many prizes worth $100’s of dollars your
property must remain accident free. If you see water on the floor, wipe
it up. If you see someone pulling a housekeeping cart, remind them it is
safer to push the cart. By looking out for each other, your property will
stay in the contest. Good Luck! |

May 2010
The Sheraton Music City played host to the annual Sales
and Catering Award celebration. There was much to
celebrate this year as our 32 Sales teams were responsible
for booking 7% more rooms than our fair share. These extra
rooms mean more business and more business means more
hours for everyone! Great job Sales and Catering. Pictured
here is the Le Meridien San Francisco, Sales and Catering
Department of the Year. |

Danielle Ising at the Westin St. Louis created the “Westin Safety Bee Hive” to help promote safety at the property. Each month the hotel has a “safety incentive challenge” and the winner (pictured, Rod Chamberlin, winner for January) gets to punch out a section of the honeycomb (during the Town Hall meeting) and win the prize inside. |

March 2010
The Haitian earthquake was felt by many of our hotels but probably no more than our Hanover Marriott. With a large number of Haitian associates working at the hotel, many were impacted. In fact, two associates were actually in Haiti at the time of the Earthquake and are thankfully okay. Some associates lost schoolmates and family members; one lost her husband due to the aftermath of the quake. So it was no surprise that everyone wanted to do what they could to help. Here the Housekeeping department shows their support. The hotel raised $1,622. |

February 2010
As the severity of the tragedy in Haiti unfolded, we continued to keep
the people of Haiti, and their families here in the United States, close
to our hearts.
In an effort to assist in the relief for Haiti, HEI has donated $15,000
to the Clinton Foundation which is already actively working to bring
immediate relief and long term support to the communities in Haiti.
We also asked our properties to help their associates contact family
members in Haiti and determine their well being. |
