HEI Hotels & Resorts has added the Ocean City Fontainebleau Resort to its management portfolio and will be working closely with the new ownership – a joint venture between affiliates of Monomoy Property Ventures LLC (MPV), Highlands Investments LLC and Certares Real Estate Management LLC – on the hotel’s transformation into an independent, upscale, seaside resort. The 250-room property is located on a prime piece of Ocean City, Maryland beachfront real estate and is poised to become one of the region’s premier hotels following an extensive renovation by the owners. This is the second property this ownership group has engaged HEI to manage.
The resort will undergo a rebranding following the renovations and has many desirable facilities and amenities that HEI will ensure perform at their maximum potential, including three beachfront and water view F&B outlets, oversized ocean view guest rooms and suites, an indoor pool and the largest conference and event space in the market. The resort has another unique advantage over competitors: the right to serve food and beverage and host events on the beach all the way to the Atlantic Ocean waterline. Renovations are expected to be completed in time for the 2023 summer season.
