Chief Operating Officer
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of HEI’s growing portfolio of 95+ hotels, Rachel oversees HEI’s team of regional leaders across all disciplines while also interacting directly with portfolio hotel asset managers and ownership representatives. Rachel has held positions within HEI Hotels & Resorts including Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President of Independent Brands and Food & Beverage, Regional Vice President of Operations, prior to being named as Principal and COO.
Prior to her corporate leadership role Rachel worked in several executive leadership positions in independent, luxury and lifestyle hotels including the famed Liberty Hotel in Boston where she was General Manager for eight years. Prior to this Rachel held executive leadership positions with St. Regis and W Hotels and several independent hotel collections where she was directly responsible for branding, re-positioning and creating a business plan to increase real estate value.
Rachel Moniz serves on the advisory boards of several leading brands and is an active member of AHLA ForWard, an initiative dedicated to advancing women in hospitality, as well as the AHLA Management Company Committee. She is the co-founder and chair of Women in Leadership, a program committed to achieving gender parity at the general manager level, and Leaders Breaking Barriers, HEI’s mentorship initiative focused on empowering and advancing underrepresented racial minorities within the hospitality industry. Rachel also helps lead HEI’s annual Shatterproof charity initiatives, championing participation in walks and charitable givebacks across the organization.
Beyond her professional leadership, Rachel remains deeply committed to community service, volunteering with numerous charitable organizations and frequently joining hotel teams across the U.S. in local outreach efforts. She and her husband live in Connecticut with their six children.
